The most important feature was that the recorder must be compatible with Dragon Naturally Speaking. Fortunately, many of the Olympus recorders are not only compatible but excel in that area. The WS-331 has not yet been certified by Nuance (the maker of Dragon), but the lower models have been. Recognizing that the 331 is both a new model and a much improved version I knew that success of the lower models would be a good indicator. As an example, the WS-320 as well as the 300 offer excellent service for voice recognition.

I was looking for a recorder that could play mp3s and had a feature that allowed me to loop a segment of a track. This player has a ton of nice features and the recording comes out very clear.

I spent about 10 hours researching before I finally selected this product. It was the best choice for what I wanted: good digital voice recorder, good mp3 player, and good flash drive.
After spending a few hours with it, I am very impressed. It's tiny, very well designed, and an overall great product.

Because of its miniature format, its ease of uploading onto computers or into portable memory, this is ideal for use with
children's speech, family memoirs, or interviews. The quality of the voice is excellent.

I purchased two of these recorders, one for myself, the other a gift. I have been amazed at the versatility, sound quality, and ease of use. I have used it to record person to person conversations, as well as conference calls, all with minimal effort, and excellent sound quality.

I work as a Court Reporter and use this handy little recorder as a backup. It is especially handy when I have to move to chambers. I move my main unit and then throw this on the desk as a backup. It is compatible with my transcription software and I love it.

what netbook do you have
@ThoughtsMedia what netbook do you keep
@ThoughtsMedia OK, sorry, I’m brasilian
@ThoughtsMedia I say I said this netbook is cute and very cheap, I bought one of these
@MrSpencerthoni I no longer own a netbook. I bought an HP dm1z for my wife; that’s the closest thing we have currently in use to a netbook.

In your opinion, should I get the Hp Mini 5103 or the HP 110?
Hey i have the hp mini but there is only one thing i hate about it! Well if you wanna know its…..! Easycap capture card itwont work for this type of laptop but if any and i mean ANYONE knows how to make it work plz contact me PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!
Are their HDMI outputs on the net books?
@TheCaramelflavour There are on some netbooks. Look also at the new AMD Fusion-based laptops that are a step above netbooks, support 1080p playback, and have HDMI out…like the HP dm1z.

What the hell man. I was thinking to buy this one, but now that i have seen that it has only 1 input for mic/headphone i say OMGGGG thats just SHITTT !!!! Dude how the hell am i supossed to talk to someone and hear him at the same time if i can only use a mic or a headphone ?? No man i dont buy this junk, all other netbooks has it, and why this 1 not, what thel hell HP, this just makes no sense.
@FurkoTurk0 You plug in the headphones and you use the microphone that up near the Webcam to talk. Or you use a USB-based headset/microphone combo which are very common. It’s not at all unusual, so I think you’re getting a little too excited about this.
- Jason
@ThoughtsMedia Hmmm yeah but i got a proffesional headset of Creative and it has a Mic plug-in (Pink) and for Headphone (Green) But maybe you right. I mean is this 2 plug-in headphones old fashion ? So headphones with usb are newer, thats the better thing in the future ?
@FurkoTurk0 Yeah, the dual-3.5mm jack headphones that you have are pretty old school…I haven’t seen a new product with dual connectors in years. Pretty much all the new microphone/headphone combos are USB-based.
- Jason
@ThoughtsMedia Cool to hear that, cause i needed a new Headphone anyway since this one is ouf of date ! And i got ma last 2 questions. You said Battery with 3 cell, and i see some other netbooks has 6 power cells and 8 cell etc.. Soo the more cells, the bigger youre battery life right ? And how many hours has a 3 cell and a 6 cell ? Andddd i really wanna buy a netbook today, and i checked the specs of this one, it is not one of the best for + – 200 euro. Wich one you you suggest to buy ?
@FurkoTurk0 The HP Mini 110 is over a year old and can’t be purchased any more. The newest HP Mini 210 comes with a 6 cell battery, and yes, the more cells the better the battery life (generally – it depends on the size of the cells). The current HP Mini 210 does 10 hours of run time. I don’t tell people what to buy; I only suggest they do their own research and decide for themselves.

@ThoughtsMedia Yes i understand. But what i didn’t even thought about is that the netbooks dont have a cd/dvd player :O How the hell we supposed to install anything than or burn etcc …??
@FurkoTurk0 Most people don’t need an optical drive any more. It’s more common to get software, music, videos, etc. via download than via disc. You can buy an external, USB-based optical drive if you need one.
- Jason
@ThoughtsMedia Ohh wow, youre theory was really interesting, i didn’t even know that. I installed windows 7 a couple times on my pc with a cd. I have a lot software but they are all on ma cd’s. Can i take the software from the discs and put them in a extern hard disk ( i still need to buy that) So is it easy to just copy the windows 7 and other software to ma hard disk or is that not possible cause of some protection ?
@FurkoTurk0 You could do some crazy stuff by ripping ISO files of your CDs/DVDs and using virtual drive software to access them on a netbook, but honestly, just pay the $50 and buy an external optical drive. It’s a good investment that can be used on any computer you want.

@Leev510 Hey Jason. Fry’s offers price matching, and I got the exact same netbook. First off….you got a GREAT deal. Was it including tax? Mine was offered at $279 PLUS tax. My question is, would you happen to know what I can use for them to price match mine to your price? would you be kind enough to provide me with anything that I can show them so they believe me? maybe like a pic of the receipt but crop out your personal info….just so it shows the model netbook, and price paid? anhything?
Thank You~)Your vid help me a lot on deciding which mini netbook I should buy
Im from Taiwan and I just bought my Hp Mini 110, the hard cover was like yours instead is like the HP Mini 1000 and at first when I saw it I was totally freak out and was like WHAT! Later, I notice what it says in the bottom of the manual “paper(1 big piece of paper) It says that the hard cover is different in every continent” Thank god, yes, it was the HP Mini 110 and in my opinion,it was great, thanks a lot!
